Alchemy is one of the thorniest issues of the Hermetic Doctrine: an inexhaustible source of Truth, but also of terrible poisons. Powerful exercise for minds trained to speculation and sophistry and – at the same time – an inspiration source for daring souls willing to face the unknown.
Souls – I underline – not minds. The difference is substantial. Like a key fits only one lock, so the Alchemy Law opens only the souls that have been transformed over the centuries, until they become pliable as wax and hard as steel. Ready souls, as Hermeticism says, human souls, very human, but with an edge over the common souls: the power of love.
It sounds easy, but it’s not so. Love is an over-used word. There are many kinds of love and all originate from sex. However, there is only one Divine Love, that in the body of the Initiate has to become the Light that creates and transforms, heats and cools, solidifies and melts.
Man is enclosed in an Energy Egg, which is immersed in an Ocean of Life. From the farthest reaches of the Universe the energy of Creation, reflected by the Sirius star, reaches us, penetrating into the bodies and supplying living organisms (Nature is alive for Hermeticism).
In humans the penetration of vital energy (Prana) is accomplished through swirling energy centers identified in the Second Body and defined by the Sanskrit term Chakra.
Mass media hamper the audience with continuous references to Chakra’s awakening techniques, which New-Age prophets present as an effective method of inner evolution, deriving it from Eastern Tradition. It must be remembered, however, that every Ovum-Man has his/her own energy architecture, which is the result of the interaction between the physical (genetic heritage) and the invisible (Second Body) part.
Hermeticism pursues an ambitious program: the man evolution towards a superior human type.
But it would be desirable that hermetic doctrine adaptes its expressions to contemporary man needs, in order to be more accessible in its essential truths.
Mine is much more than a wish.
It is a plan declaration, which would be then the attempt to take back the right of the truth to triumph over so much flowering nonsense in True Science’s backyard.
The new Hermeticism must be different from the old one, by definition.
It isn’t an ideological revolution. The dispute, if you like, concerns the way the eternal truth expresses itself.
Modern man should ask him(her)self about the real reasons which let him(her) turn his(her) attention to an Ancient Tradition, in the attempt to find peace and serenity. Is the crisis of religious values that pushes to seek beyond Christian mysticism, no longer able to quench the soul of those who are driven by the need of love, rather than conformism or habit?
The answer is probably positive.
Over the years Religion has lost its synchronism with its faithful followers, increasingly relying on the role of social doctrine and less and less the true faith one, which alone can shake off the weak infrastructures of the human psyche from the foundation.
Such consideration could explain the return to the ancient mystery faiths, through the reenactment of glories of bygone ages, though still rich in promises and enchantments.
